Columbia River Gorge
We meet at Sol Rides headquarters 13 Oak St. in Hood River, OR. then promptly load into the Sol Train (12 passenger van) for a quick 20-minute drive to Cascade Locks, OR.
If you are interested in arriving car-free, check out Columbia Gorge Express Shuttle coming from Portland, they will drop you off there in Cascade Locks where we can meet and begin tour.
Rolling into the heart of the Columbia River Gorge where the wilderness collides with the wondrous natures of man. We begin our tour pedaling over to Thunder Island as we gaze into the expansive view thru the Bridge of the Gods as your guide shares history of the local surroundings and the geological events in which this area is nested upon. Then merging onto the Historic Highway (no vehicles) and making our way to the Bonneville Dam Fish Hatchery, enjoying the creeks and cliffs along the way.
This is a great tour to be in the shade on hot summer days, great for families that would like to do less miles on bike (+/- 14) and be on a bike path with no vehicles 90% of the trip. Also to investigate the fire scar of September 2017 'Eagle Creek Fire'.

What to Expect:
This is our signature tour, the one that leaves you breathless from the scenery, not from the uphill.
As we begin pedaling away from Hood River, the propulsion of an E-Bike instantly creates a satisfying exhilaration of minimal effort and maximum fun.
Let us ride together along the Historic Highway (no vehicles), stopping along the way to admire the scenic vistas and sharing 'Gorge' history. Depending on wind, weather and season, we choose from U-pick orchards, small hike to a waterfall and wildflowers or the overlook of Mount Hood and the Hood River Valley. A tour that creates lasting memories and has you wondering why there isn't an E-Bike in your garage.
We ride at a moderate pace as the tour guide shares with you the local history and geological wonder. Half of this tour stays in the shade during summer and is on a bike path (Historic Highway) with no vehicles offering a peaceful and enjoyable experience.
